HipHopEmcees "Mic Check" Rd-3 (Semi Finals)
Started rapping about September 2004, but I'd been writing poetry for years and done text battles on rap boards once in a while. My content is far from what most females "in the game" speak on, I don't talk about Gucci and Prada, or sex all the time. I keep it real and talk about issues that are on my mind. Things that are going on in "MY" life or the lives of people I know. To me, it's all about keeping it REAL and elevating so that you can be at your best and I believe I'm well on my way to doing both.
Lyrics
Good Die Young (Warrior Part 2)
like everybody else, I wanna settle the score
but I wanna know what’s happening behind closed doors
there’s a war going on and we don’t know what it’s for
day in, day out, a younger and younger corpse
better choose to keep the real and not the pretend
gotta choose ya side, who you really wanna defend?
you deep up in the streets, always got beef to no end
and the danger you live in; it’s more than just a trend
wear the wrong color and they know that you a foreigner
no honor getting shot for standing on the wrong corner
hand on the glock, tick tock like a clock
sell them rocks like a silent auction, “right off the block”
stuck in the life you lead ‘cause you be loving the rush
love the thought of coming close, barely escaping death’s clutch
the gun got aim, but the bullet ain’t got eyes
BANG!!…another mother holding her bloody child
baptizing her eyes through the many tears that she cries
he was a good, but died young, met his early demise
had his head in his book, wasn’t tryina be hard
but they dealing, killing, stealing right across the yard
like everybody else, I wanna settle the score
but I wanna know what’s happening behind closed doors
there’s a war going on and we don’t know what it’s for
day in, day out, a younger and younger corpse
all he wanted was an education, this wasn’t explained
now it’s the worst decision that he felt he’s ever made
seeing pictures of a home that he NEVER thought he’d miss
every word from his mouth, another thought reminisced
he signed the dotted line, now he on the front lines
another comrade dies, but the pain is disguised
4 feet tall, at his head pointing steal
he don’t wanna shoot a kid, but it’s kill or GET killed
getting yelled at by this rebel to “put your weapon down
get your face to the ground”, now his heart starts to pound
so he hit the deck, but see him running for the door
with sweaty palms, he pushed himself up off the floor
heard the bullets hitting bricks while he’s filling up the clip
and he’s gotta move quick, ‘cause he don’t wanna get hit
got shot where he stands, weapon still up in his hand
another good died young, left to fill a body bag
like everybody else, I wanna settle the score
but I wanna know what’s happening behind closed doors
there’s a war going on and we don’t know what it’s for
day in, day out, a younger and younger corpse
