Played guitar, fiddle & mandolin in Rock Bands, Country Rock and Southern Rock Bands during and after College in the late 70's. Presently concentrate on songwriting and home-recording. I had a couple of songs picked up by a music publisher at one point. Once in a while I get talked into performing again; otherwise I just get together with my friends.

Story behind the song
My father was a special person. Everyone who knew him was enriched by him, not just me. He would always tell me to "cheer up, its not the end of the world". He was a fortress amidst turmoil. ........I miss him a lot...My fondest memories are of fishing with him when I was very young.... I acknowledge his birthday with this song.
Lyrics
Cheer up... the world has not ended There’s nothing that can’t be mended Cheer up..... my son Now lets go ...and have some fun He’d take me down with the fishing rods Stay up real late Next day we'd fry em up Trout on our plate He was... always there Every single day And when... we were down He would always say Cheer up... the world has not ended There’s nothing that can’t be mended Cheer up... my son Now let’s go... and have some fun When he died he looked at me and told me to be strong And as we laid him down I could swear…. I heard…. this song Cheer up... the world has not ended There’s nothing... that can’t be mended Cheer up ...my son Now let’s go... and have some fun
