Story behind the song
we only had enough time to lay down a few hasty tracks. This was the first thing we did, recorded to 4-track cassette in 2 improvised takes: first Frank Dunlap on guitar and RD on Casio SK-1 sampler (sample from a Yamaha PortaSound PSS-570 autorhythm) then Frank on sax and RD on synth. In this mix, Frank's guitar part has been slowed to half speed and pitch-shifted and RD's synth part has been augmented with a double-speed and pitch shifted copy of itself. To hear more material recorded during this historic reunion, visit www.soundclick.com/dadala and listen to "sea monster's solitude" and "do you know the way to san diego" (which features Thomas J sax solos)
