Story of a guy owned by the ownership of his own life.
Unexpected EZ Listening to disorienting free-sections... all set to music.
This is needful. Some things just are, and some of these things that are, are in response to things that are not needful. Like war, uneducated authority figures, and bad music.
Story behind the song
It was written for my employer, and given him for a birthday present. He was a very strong personality, and very into the world he'd built for himself out of the tool business he'd inherited from his father. And yes, you could say I found him an annoying character at times- and I took the opportunity to express my feeling here! But that's what friends are for, I s'pose.
It's also a pretty good reflection, in a way, of my own life...
Lyrics
My dad, spared the rod.
That kind of love, I never saw.
My dad; my friends...
My dad! (Couldn't win).
My choice, my loss.
Too sad! Now I'm boss!
My store, My rules.
My teevee, my girls!
My drugs, all my years-
My withdrawls, blood sweat and tears!
My drugs. They nearly won-
but my friend knew God's Son.
My life: It's changed a lot!
But- what?! This is MY song.
It's my house, it's my way,
'cause THIS OLD MAN is here to stay!
It's my store, my house,
my dog, my spouse-
my door, my couch,
my hair- even if it's falling out!
It's my church, my desk,
my bills, my mess,
my newspaper, my cigarrettes-
my game- I play it best!
My business, my street,
my territory under my feet!
My employees, my desire,
my network- MY EMPIRE!!
You can stand, you can stay- but I'll fight you every inch of the way!
It's my world
My world!
My World!
My World!
MY WORLD!!
