Lyrics
Remote Control Truth’s impersonal; fate and fault are one and the same The pretender wears a familiar name Shackled by familiar heritage and a shortened chain on the silver spoon Throwing discourse; curtains hide the sun from the shade A tilted smile conceals the passion played With all that hanging perspiration the air up there must be hard to breathe CHORUS Don’t let the cameras distract you Keep one eye on the bottom line Give yourself to building prospects, and you can pull the wool in time Ten years of effort, it finally lies in your hands A crude handshake confirms your bad command If doubting should invade your psyche take a cruise on the remote control Check your passbook; strike up the band for a song Balance your sense of right and move along Running down an airborne alley, don’t lose your footing on the clouds below Truth’s impersonal; fate and fault are one and the same The pretender shares a familiar blame Protected by familiar heritage, whistling an all-too-familiar tune Lobbing discourse; the sun guides another crusade A tilted smile—reality betrayed With all that stilted inspiration the air up there must be hard to breathe music and lyrics: Jay Youngless ©2005 Oldmore Music/ASCAP All rights reserved.
