Sincere the great-Honor Before Riches/ www.sincerethegreat.com
As a 7-week Hall of Fame champion of BET’S 106 & Park Freestyle Friday rap battle competition, Sincere the Great raps with the veracity and eagerness of new blood eager to conquer the rap game. With an openly honest take on life, Sincere the Great truly represents his name and defines how earnest his desire is to be the best. No longer ‘good’ at his craft, Sincere has been dubbed “the great” by his peers. He aptly demonstrated why he had been dubbed “The Great" during his 7 week reign over BET’S 106 & Park Freestyle Friday where Sincere devoured his opponents in front a television audience in excess of Seventy Two Million Viewers! With a gushing feeling that the floodgates have opened, Sincere spews line after line of clever analogies and slick responses leaving listeners to ponder just how many tricks he holds up his sleeve. Sincere the Great was born in Rochester, New York where he encountered the street life like so many fellow rap artists. Fortunately, his maternal grandmother, who risked her life at times to make sure that he would not end up in jail or prison, adopted Sincere the Great. He chose to succeed even with the passing of his grandmother in 2002. It has been said that Sincere the Great lived a double life while growing up. While living in the most violent part of the City of Rochester and dealing with the issues of guns, drugs, and gangs, Sincere the Great attended Rochester’s “School of the Arts,” a school designated for those truly gifted with artistic talent. Sincere went from dodging bullets on his way to school to meeting with friends who had just received a new car for their sixteenth (16) birthday. Despite adversity and his humble background, Sincere shined at the School of the Arts winning numerous talent competitions which he continued to do even after graduating from School of the Arts and entering college at SUNY Morrisville in 2004 where he has won every rap competition held at the college. Sincere the Great’s unique life experience allows his rhymes to relate to people of different races, genders and economical lifestyles. Sincere now draws his inspiration from hearing the talents of underground rappers who have not been discovered, but continue their struggle. Remaining careful not to imitate other rappers in the game, Sincere the Great strategically lends his competition an ear so once he is signed, listeners will not be subjected to rap music’s relentless similarities. Influenced by Hip Hop greats Dr. Dre and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Sincere the Great is also a dedicated fan of Bone Thugs and Harmony. Drawing from many artists, he began to produce his own style, a combination of JadaKiss’s precision and Eminem’s imagery. As a 7-week hall of fame champion of BET’S 106 & Park Freestyle Friday and the winner of countless talent competitions, Sincere the Great recognizes his potential and seizes every opportunity. One such competition was held at his college, SUNY Morrisville, where he competed against many talented rappers to win a spot on BET’s 106 & Park. He has performed at many local events such as the Rochester Peace Festival and continues to open up for national recording artists such as G-Unit, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Soca/Regga sensation Kevin Lytle. In January 2005 Sincere kicked off a college tour which continues to grow as he adds more and more colleges and cities to the line-up. “My style is like an eclipse. People hear about it before it comes, then when they see it, it’s striking, when it’s all said and done, it’s beautiful”, says Sincere. In Mid February 2005 Sincere the Great released his long awaited maxi single featuring the hits “So Sincere,” the smooth “Baby Boo” (featuring Damaris Rivera) and the club banger “Dis is How We Do!” Sincere the Great successfully teams up with rising producers ROC Music Group and Icon Entertainment to lay tracks that capture his honesty and passion. With his aggressive personality and skillful prose, Sincere the Great is both truthful and aggressive enough to be hailed The Great.
