Story behind the song
My Dad passed away in 2001. Since then, my wife and I have always had strong feelings of his presence and often say "you know what Dad just said about that"? I also, hear my Dad in what I say to my kids and wrote this song after a conversation at the breakfast table one weekend.

What Would Dad Say? Did you hear what I said? I come by that so naturally And although he's dead He continues on and on in me. You think he sounds like me? He'll even look the same wait and see Is it heredity? Or is he speaking through me? Because I feel him more everyday He comes out in what I hear myself say I hear his voice inside and say hey! I remember what he said You're such a lucky guy to have her On the day we were wed He said Son you take good care of her And I try to remember that everyday Especially now that Dad is away But when I forget I hear people say Man do you ever sound like your Dad!
