Dhaka-dice
This is not as much a side-project to Fungus (since Fungus IS pretty much my solo project anyway) as it is sort of a test tube where I try out my ideas to see what they sound like with full instrumentation. Most of these songs are written for Fungus and will be played live and maybe even recorded in a real studio some time in the future, so a lot of the songs are really "Fungus" songs that are complete even before the other members have even heard them. You could say they are to demo recordings what regular demo recordings are to professional studio recordings. I also use the pseudonym "Dhaka-dice" when making hip-hop beats. But I'm not sure I can upload all my beats, as some of them contain samples that haven't been altered enough for me to be able to call them my own. Anyways, if you're curios about what I'm doing, feel free to listen.

Story behind the song
This song has got a sort of "sibling", whose title is "Come Step On Me". The lyrics in the chorus of that song go "Make yourself at home...I'm feeling all alone..." and the lyrics in the chorus of this song contains the phrase "Come step on me". So each of these two songs borrows the other's title for its chorus, or borrows the other song's chorus for its title. (Each song also contains its own title towards the end) The reason I did this is simply that I personally hate it when the title of a song is also the chorus (and I also like to think things through). So I swapped the titles. Also, Limp Bizkit did something similar on the first record (yeah, that was a great record). One song was called "Sour" and another song had a chorus that went "One minute you're sweet, one minute you're sour", which is kind of confusing when you're still in that stage when you haven't yet learned which song has which title. I thought the same thing would be cool to do to these two songs. But the titles/choruses are not the only connection between these two songs. They both have the same kind of subject matter. Both are a sarcastic invitation of sorts towards the antagonist(s), to abuse the person singing (that would be me). While the other one is about being both physically and mentally abused by bullies (a flashback to my early school years), this one is about being mentally abused by someone you love. At this point in my life, the bullies had been replaced by equally mean (if not even worse) girlfriends that in some cases almost seemed to have gotten into a relationship just for the fun of dumping you. At this time, I was deeply in love with a girl who I had given so much love without getting anything back (although I was close to catching both lice and chlamydia). She even seemed ashamed of the fact that we had been a couple. This made me feel really bad. I've written several Fungus songs about this girl. One of them is "Blood Clots" (lice, veneral diseases, period blood stains...that's what you get when you give them your love). Luckily, my feelings for this girl diminished and eventually, I didn't just stop being in love with her, I actually got over her (those are two different things you know). As is evident in this song, that girl brought me lots and lots of pain, but also made me write lots and lots of songs, both pop tunes and tunes like this.
