Story behind the song
Samantha is a runner and going out for track this year. She is training by running everyday. She needed something for her MP3 player that would help her train for racing. She wanted to work on setting a steady pace in the beginning - a boost of speed to break from the crowd later and then set a new pace to help prevent her from burning out after she was ahead. I worked the tune in 4 parts. The first part is the simple and at 100 bpm - 2nd set adds percussion - the 3rd set bumps up to 110 bpm and increases in melody complication - the four set reduces the bpm to 105 and remains a melody combination of the first two sets and the third set. It’s just a fun experiment. Give it a listen and see what you think.
