Story behind the song
This song was written after being turned down at an audition for which I was told I had the best voice they had heard. They explained to me that while my voice was great, my look was not appropriate.
Lyrics
Black Beauty, Oh Girl, You're precious in this world, never let anyone take your pride from you. Girl, have you been told you aint beautiful cause of your big hips, or you're ugly cause of your thick lips, You've got a wide nose. Don't let them fool you girl cause you're a beauty, from your head down to your toes. Black Beauty, Oh Girl, You're precious in this world, never let anyone take your pride from you. If you're a size 18 or a size 2, doesn't matter, all that matter's God created you, You should be proud of all that you are, You're a black woman, that's all it takes to make you a star. Black Beauty, Oh Girl, You're precious in this world, never let anyone take your pride from you. Oh, you've got a strong mind, Don't be scared to use it (use it all the time) Please don't be quiet if they say you're too outspoken, When you're speaking what's right!
