Story behind the song
It's not only a song against the war, it's a song against the hypocrisy of who pretends to have a clear coscience because he is on the right side.
Music written more or less on 2000, lyrics partially written a couple of weeks after September, 11, then completed on 2002 and recorded in September-October.
Lyrics
I've got my money, I've got my car,
all I care is to be free,
more than how much you are.
We are in the right side of this world,
I gave alms, I can't do more,
and there's no room for those who lost
their war.
Fire in my eyes, smoke in my brain:
I don't believe in what I see
does the world wanna die?
Dust in my lungs, death in my heart
I'm not ready for this hell,
but there's someone playing right now
that bell...
Crazy, yes we're crazy if we try
to turn our face to another side.
Lazy, yes we're lazy when our eyes
are closed to be alive.
When you're watching to the TV
and don't distinguish any more
what is movie, what is real pain, you're not sure,
how can you say: "I love you"?
How can you smile, and teach your children what is good,
and what is bad, but don't be sad:
it's not your fault, it's understood.
Crazy, yes we're crazy if we try
to turn our face to another side.
Lazy, yes we're lazy when our eyes
are closed to be alive.
