a punchy r&r song about graduating from high school, in the sixties

I am a songwriter, rather than a band. I am looking for groups or individuals to record my material.

Story behind the song
This song is from my r&r musical, "California : A State of Being". It takes place at the high school dance given the evening, of the day that the kids have finally received their diplomas. All dance and sing the song together, with different persons singing the different verses and all joining in to sing the choruses together.

Lyrics
Graduaton Day copyright1984 by Victor Compton
Well, I can't even spell "graduate", but I can rock and roll
And, in chemistry class, I just skate, but I can make a goal.
It's not the bad grades, that I know I made along the way.
Thank God for sports, when you're short on Graduation Day.
Well, I can't even spell sexuality, but I can flirt.
I know how to move what I've got, and I can make 'em hurt.
It's not the good grades that I didn't make along the way.
My mini-skirts got me my diploma, on Graduation Day.
It isn't all peaches and cream,
Life's not a big bowl of cherries.
You might get a handfull of thorns,
or you might get a mouthful of berries.
That's what the teachers all say,
	oh, on Graduation Day.
Well, it's not the marks that you get or the marks that you miss.
It's how well you pretend to love, all the ass you gotta kiss.
School's here to teach you the rules of the Power Play.
Only ethics and fools don't make it to Graduation Day.
