Story behind the song
Guitars, sometimes when taken out of context of the usual sothern rock and garage pop it actually doesn't annoy the hell out of me. Here we set out to record the backing track to a rather dark hiphop track. Vocals weren't a prioity, it was the mood that we worked on with intent that someone add vocals later. This track about 6 months to complete at a rather lazy pace. Guitars used were a Fender Strat and a Hamer Diablo. Drums are of course MIDI but not samples. Everything we record has been written not borrowed. This track makes me think of my drive home every night from work at 1:30AM. I travel a dark highway through some pretty run down areas of town to get to my house. All the instruments aside from the bass and drums are guitars. Everything note is original and nothing is with heavy effects. We use Ebows, voume swells and reverb, nothing else was used to achieve the sounds you hear here. The power of the Fender Stratocaster in modern recording is limitless.
