Story behind the song
I think Doug came up with this idea and pitched it to me and we just went from there. He already had some killer lines in it that made it impossible not to want to write on. After I placed the music on it, we knew we were onto something. The writing in Nashville used to be this good, but sadly, I don't think anyone is interested in songs like this nowdays. When Brooks&Dunn can go from "Neon Ballroom" to "Play Something Country", you know... well, you just know. /rant
