You look out your window on Sunday, put the guitar strap around your neck, adjust the tube mic to mouth height, and press record. Accept the results.
Home recording project
Right, I'm the band. Thirty and counting. American living in the southwest of Germany. Giving it a shot.
Story behind the song
Sometimes I like to pick up an instrument and sing spontaneously and record it all on Sundays when the world is tumbling about outside my window. I have seen so very much out that window.
Lyrics
We got it, we got it.
We got it, we got it and we're not telling
for a law, I'm never far away from you
so just pretend I'm always there
It's easier for us both,
I don't care what you say
I'm not going anyway
I've decided to let it ride
for whatever reasons
I'm not coming anymore
I've changed those plans
Since you were with me
I've changed and I'm at
You have to so let's not
pretend it's the
same old story of
and you come
does everything go all back
into place, I don't think so
Weather's gotten better.
Sun goes down
later at night.
people outside are walking
they're not afraid of anything
the sun's come out again.
Later, sun goes down.
I drink the red wine
you have given me
so there's nothing left but the
cheap supermarket variety
Sun's going down later
all the time.
Children are playing.
And the street's drying up
People are having their conversations
outside my window just
next to the entrance of the
university church.
There's one pigeon, suspicious
of everyone walking by him
tipping his head from side to side
never a better day in his life
but today he's looking for some bread
the people sitting at
Aspekt's tables
he's gonna get himself fed
get some bread.
The generous people in this town
no match for the cold coming down.
