Story behind the song
Something cool and refreshing. Almost Oriental in nature my roomate said. The tune is a reflection of those quiet times we sometimes find ourselves in. Imagine setting in a small row boat in the late afternoon drifting on the water. Watching the Sunlight shimmer off the water’s surface and watching for the fish to jump. Listening to the water’s wake slap against the hull of the boat. The smell of pine is everywhere. In the distance clouds are approaching and quietly almost dream like the gentle rain comes like a curtain flowing in the wind. The steam rising off the blacktop road on the hillside and the wall of rain washes across the water’s surface growing louder as it moves forward. One of the best times in my life was during my final family vacation up North to visit. We were able to stay out on the lake near Bangor in a cabin my aunt and uncle still owned at the time. We really had the best time. That was the first time I ever heard the almost prehistoric sounds of the Loon. I was absolutely taken with the birds and watching them dive into the water for food - land and take off. I will always remember that time.
