"Joe Huettner makes the world a better place" - Jess Blasko, Ithaca, New York Originally from a small farm in South Central Pennsylvania, JOE HUETTNER's pursuits in music led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he plans to major in Songwriting. “I don't think people want to hear about sadness all the time, and that seems to be a majority of the songs on the radio now,” says Huettner. “I want to get some happiness out there, but without sacrificing musical quality. However, if a sad song is written, I won't hesitate to let people hear it. Unless it sucks." As well as Songwriting, Joe's interests include playing the electric bass, reading up on Roman history, and being a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Story behind the song
"This is another song that began like 'King of No Regrets'; it was a verse and a chorus that I wrote in the summer of 2003 that simply never got finished until recently. I'm glad I did finish it, because I feel that it's some of the best lyric writing I've done, as well as a very entertaining ride, musically. Plus, I show off my newfound achievement - being able to whistle!" J.G.H.
Lyrics
Eight o' clock You wake up, grab a shower, and put your clothing on The clothing that you bought for all your friends The latest store where all the price tags are respectable You go to school They make some jokes and say you're out of style The bell rings in the afternoon You hope that no one's watching you As you go back to the store again to update your collection Like a Paper Doll A paper doll When something's wrong You just ball it up and cut some out again And again Chorus: Dress up, dress down Dress sharp and don't address your fear of being unaccepted Dress up, dress down Dress smart and don't address your fear; Just keep the truth protected You gotta keep 'em happy, paper doll On and on Like plastic soldiers on our battleground The sandbox that we can't escape You got to fight to make the grade and outsmart your opponents Living lies To fool our two-dimensional counterparts And earn a love that's based on looks And help them fill their pocketbooks That's how success is measured here in a world that always owns us Like we're Paper Dolls Paper dolls When something's wrong They just ball us up and cut some out again And again (Chorus) And all our lives, we're told to be original We're told to be exactly like the ones who are original Until the day it dawns on us that everyone's identical And when that day arrives, my friends That make sure that we don't speak out again They wipe us off the map and we're recycled back, another batch of Paper dolls Paper dolls If we turn out wrong They'll just ball us up and cut some out again And again (Chorus) ---- Joe Huettner: Bass, Vocals Ryan Adams: Guitars Lou Wang: Piano Tim Bojanowski: Drums
