UnderEstimation (KN Version)
A song I covered, original by Wray. I have no idea whether this is a tribute or an abomination, I'll let you decide.
Solo project featuring Beach Boys-style vocal harmonies, Hard rock mandolin playing, and a Yamaha synth.
Hi, my name is Kenneth, this is my music.
Story behind the song
Wray is a cool guy, so I thought that maybe if I covered one his songs I would become cool, I guess I was wrong. Take note, every single word I say in this song means something in some language or another, the african chant under "Campbell's soup..." used some of the lyrics to "The Lion King".
Lyrics
Lyrics I added are in parenthesis:
Crazy little monkey and a funny little wildebeest.
Tried to take a side, and the little bugger branded me.
Can’t turn back, don’t want to anyway.
Rolled the dice and she came to stay.
Campbell’s soup at lunch time, havin’ a good time, (Ingonyama, hey mamela) (Oh oh iyo)
Holdin’ hands and makin’ friends. (Heyla Giza buyabo)
With your face against the glass, actin’ all crass,
I believe I might just pass.
I never knew that you would climb inside my mind,
I had hoped that you would go.
Train stops here in it’s underestimation.
Might have had myself a veil of accusation.
She fried my brain with her neutron radiation.
I took a shot, and she said she won.
Press comes at crunch time, wantin’ you part time,
Livin’ large and holdin’ on.
With your face against the glass, actin’ all crass,
I believe I might just pass.
I never knew that you would climb inside my mind,
I had hoped that you would show.
(Ichi Ni San Shi! GO!!)
I’m astounded, I’m around it and it feels just fine.
I’m confounded, she’s unbounded and the feelin’s mine.
I wake up now and see, why you have chosen me.
I never knew that you would climb inside my mind,
I had hoped that you would show.
