I am a songwriter, rather than a band. I am looking for groups or individuals to record my material.

Story behind the song
inspired by the story line of my R&R musical, "California : A State Of Being".

Lyrics
This song is from my R&R musical, "California : A State Of Being". On the sidewalk in front of her house in Hometown, USA Mary Lou (the teenaged Heroine) has been speaking with her "black sheep" Uncle Harry. He is the one who left the town after High School, and has been travelling the world since, occasionally sending desperate letters to Mary Lou's mother (his younger sister) demanding money to buy a ticket back from Katmandu, or Brisbane, or even once from the Canary Islands, where he had to live in a cave for awhile, just outside of town. He has never been a success at anything, but has become a Legend locally as the only one that ever got away from Hometown, USA.
     Mary Lou has just confided to Uncle Harry that she desperately wishes to leave, and perhaps become an Actress. "Uncle Harry," she pleads, "What do you think that I should do?"
     "Make your way to L.A." is his sung reply.

Make Your Way To L.A. copyright 1984 by Victor Compton
When the whole world is excited by the things you think and do,
and your Talent is ignited by your own belief in you;
When you know you're going places, and your dreams are coming true,
Make your way, make your way to L.A.
Make your way, make your way to L.A
If you were born a Dreamer, then you need a Dream Machine
If you were born a Gleamer, then you need a place to gleam.
If your home town is too tiny, and you need a place to scream?
Make your way, make your way to L.A.
Make your way, make your way to L.A
Chorus : Time seems to stop, on the climb to the top
With the signs of success on display.....
a hand in cement, an impossible rent and
the telephone bills you must pay.
Make your way, make your way, make your way
make your way, make your way, make your way to L.A.
In the City of The Angeles is a statue made of fire,
and the sun drips down like honey, on the seller and the buyer;
oh, and if you've got the Money, the the Beauty is for hire! So,
Make your way, make your way to L.A
Make your way, make your way to L.A
