This song has an interesting blend of influences, which have melded and created a feel-good rock song.
progressive alternative rock acoustic solo music
This is me - my life in the form of music. Although my favorite type of music is progressive rock, I also liking writing solo acoustic songs, and have made some attempts at creating a few techno/industrial instrumental songs.
Story behind the song
There's a big pond right behind my apartment building with lots of trees, and it's a beautiful area. There's also a road close by, which when you're lying in the grass sounds like it's coming from over-head... so anyway, the song is about being content and learning to enjoy life.
Lyrics
The bends and breaks are passing over,
The sky blue canopy above our heads,
Rustle the sounds of silence like a melody,
Of dead poetry it seems long ago was lost,
Where now we fight to keep our sanity,
Away from worlds of pain and vanity.
Lying here, everything is so calm,
As we find ourselves content to be…
Run your fingers through my hair again, yeah,
Remind me of life’s simplicities,
Here we are sitting somewhere far from cities,
As the clouds take us to our dreams,
In a land of innocent somberness,
Between the painted timbers I see...
I can feel the love that permeates,
Masked by the dissonance and chaos of fear.
The crooks and nails are passing over,
The sky blue canopy above our heads,
Relaxes the clench of tension,
In another moment’s breath.
Lying here, everything is so calm,
As we find ourselves content to be…
Run your fingers through my hair again, yeah,
Remind me of life’s simplicities,
Now we’re sitting somewhere far from cities,
As the clouds take us to our dreams,
In a land of innocent somberness,
Between the painted timbers I see...
I can feel the love that permeates in us all,
Masked by the dissonance and chaos of fear.
I lose my sight ‘til I’m reminded,
I lose my sight ‘til I’m re-grounded…
