A cool little pop tune I did with Eric Thurber, one of my first internet collaborations.
pop rock acoustic
Varied rock music ranging from mellow acoustic to heavier groove oriented rock
I guess you can't really call it a "band" if it's just you. However, I do collaborate from time to time with lots of friends, many from www.guitars101.com. You'll see songs on here that I've done with Chris McCafferty (my best friend in the world, my musical mentor and my brother from another mother), Don Moore (my famous disappearing buddy from Pittsburgh), Rich Webster (aka Stiglar, the Saucy Aussie)Zeppy, Mandy, my boy Jimmy Jam and many others. (Sorry if I left you out) I build a lot of these songs using loops and samples. However, I write the lyrics and melodies myself, and in many cases play the bass parts. I've posted a picture of my Mom because someone reminded me of just how important she was in my life and how important she was in teaching me to love music. (Thanks Dad) As far back as I can remember she had music playing in the house and she passed that love on to me. My earliest memory is of her singing to me and I'll never forget it. Thanks for the music Mom, it might have been the greatest gift you ever gave me. If you like what you hear, I'd love to hear from you. If you're a musician that writes and would like to collaborate, hit me up. That's the beauty of the internet and technology these days. I've written many songs with very talented people that I've never even met. In the end, it's all about the music and that's what's important. Life is music and music is life.

Story behind the song
Eric had this one laying around. I heard it and instantly connected with it. Thus, I wrote some lyrics, added some vocals and it became our first hit single, lol.
Lyrics
Sometimes I think sometimes I pray It would be too easy to walk away So I'll just pretend that everything's all right Bite my lip and hold my tongue And ignore all that's been done And I'll just work on sleeping, through another night All at once I closed my eyes I felt something deep inside and I knew, I was learning to fly Left my fears back on the ground Took a good look all around I knew, that I was learning to fly Another step towards the dream Smaller parts make larger schemes It's all I need to make the day Moments lost and floating free Just the way it used to be But this time, this time I won't run away All at once I closed my eyes I felt something deep inside and I knew, I was learning to fly Left my fears back on the ground Took a good look all around I knew, that I was learning to fly
