Story behind the song
We love rednecks. And our love for rednecks and Bright Eyes lead us to making a redneck-ish Bright Eyes song. We made the awesome bass on keyboard, the awesome drums on keyboard and the awesome keyboard on keyboard. This marks a milestone. Tony played guitar and sang in this song which makes it the most participated song by Tony. We hope to see more from him in the future.
Lyrics
I'm on Route 66, and I'm singin' just for kicks, I'm gettin' tired, but their ain't no way I'm gonna be stoppin'. I'm gonna truck my way to you, and you can take away any blues, so c'mon wrap me in your arms baby, it's been a long drive. Now when you hear me at the door, you gotta get up off the floor, answer it baby, it's been a long while. I came straight from Alabama, but I'm not here to see your grandma. I got 12 bucks in the bank and it's going towards buying your love. I got 12 bucks, And this pickup truck, I'm gonna spend my cash, And try not to crash.
