Story behind the song
Written during a Textiles lecture during the first quarter of being a first-year undergraduate student in college, this song came to life after frustration and boredom when a TA stepped in for the professor. Already disappointed at the pure science of the material (as opposed to the more artistic aspect of fabric and yarns), this song symbolized the realization of going to a college where art had a reputation for being "not as serious." For anyone interested in creativity and art, it was akin to the death of passion. So then, is it wrong for someone interested in the arts to be in a science-based environment? Is it possible for someone like that to thrive? The song doesn't really offer any answers, but suggests that somethign has to be done - and fast. A dark melody written in 3/3 time signature.
Lyrics
You are standing there with your big lips Hurling spittle in every direction It's not your fault It's not your fault Heavy is the tongue that wobbles What am I doing here What am I doing here You are standing there with your large hands This cannot be dimensional It's all my fault It's all my fault Flowery are the hands that flicker What are you doing here What are you doing here All these numbers and cold hard fact I guess I chose my destruction No love, passionless I found the foe in bed Nine, ten week torture in slow-mo dissolve It's not your fault (I shouldn't have to listen to this) It's all my fault (It's a pity that it's come to this) It's not your fault (I should have known better than to) It's all my fault (Romanticize this)
