Story behind the song
A blurb written in December 2002, shortly after a run-in with a reality check. "Baby Don't You Cry" came as a kind of self-reassurance, forcing the narrator to analyze their own problems and to do something about it. Shifting between a sense of belonging and alienation, the real question posed was one of whether to stay or to go. The opening track for the album.
Lyrics
Baby, don't you cry Baby, don't ask why Tell me what do you want to be? This is not for sure I just want to go somewhere and find myself "You don't have to go" "Must you throw it all" But I know I cannot stay here much longer I just want to see What is meant for me Someone tell me Am I deluded? And it all will strike a tear but I think I am true Ice is cold but this will hold - this much I have to do Baby, don't you cry Baby, don't ask why Tell me what do you want to be This is not for sure I don't know no more I just want to go somewhere and find myself
