Story behind the song

"Before You Answer" started out as a song where one party was reluctant to communicate with the other. Later on, it evolved to suggest other scenarios.

It's the kind of song that is playful and also almost "in-denial"-like in nature. The relationship between the two sides is flirtatious, definitely not with commitment in mind, almost to the degree that if any serious is mentioned, the relationship will crumble.
