Lyrics
PRECIOUS TO ME © Deb Rempel 2004 Verse One His child had made the paper boat. It barely stood. Would never float. He saw her small hand caref’ly drew Scrawling lines of red and blue. He reached and pulled it from the trash And read the words, “A gift for Dad.” Verse Two He opened his costly display Of ships and gently, proudly placed The fragile gift she’d made inside. When she saw, he heard her cry, “It’s just no good.” He shook his head, Held her close, and softly said, Chorus Your gift is so precious to me. When I look, here’s what I see – Your love for me is shining through. You gave the priceless gift of you. Don’t be discouraged, just believe, Your gift is so precious to me. Verse Three Years had passed. She did her best To serve the Lord but found no rest. Felt all she did was not enough But when she felt like giving up She saw the boat there on display And heard her Savior gently say: Chorus Bridge Have you felt you can’t go on – What you try just turns out wrong. Don’t see your efforts with your eyes. Just focus on your love for Christ, For he says: Chorus
