Markovich/A Music Project group with contributors local and on the Internet, the purpose is to create a music mixing acoustic and electronic sounds with a strong groove and thoughtful lyrics (well, sometimes)
Project to create music in the footsteps of the Severn Delta posse: Portishead, Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps. The music is a Borg-like fusion of Electronic and Organic: plenty of real guitarsand basses used, as well as synths, samples and anything that can make a noise.
The core of the group consists of Roy Phillips, compositions, instruments and production, with Jerry Allen and Margot du Bois lending their vocal talents as well as contributing lyrics and music.
Additional producers include Brodo and the semi-mythical Frankie Wilde
Story behind the song
Another strange one from the mystical island of Ibiza.
The track started life as a normal ballad, called "Something New", and we were like just strumming along on the beach one evening, thinking no bad thoughts at all, when this fella turns up, and starts singing his own words over it: "Otay, otay, don't you worry, everythings gonna be otay!", and it sort of worked, it added something taht was missing to the song
Anyways, we got talking and decided to go to his a€œvilla" where he had a small studio in his garden shed, and thats where this version got recorded, with him on production and fetching of chilled vodka duties.
Now here's the funny thing, his name was Frankie Wilde, and he'd been on the island a good few years, doing some Dj'ing and stuff, then this movie comes out about him and whilst there are some similarities, its definitely made-up. I even think the Austrian in the movie is supposed to be me (don't ask...)
Lyrics
(0:22)
I've been looking for something new
- a passing passion to share with you
It'll mean nothing when it's done
A moment together in the sun
(1:11)
Otay, Otay, don't you worry,
Everything is gonna be Otay!
Otay, Otay, don't you worry,
Everything is gonna be Otay!
(2:34)
Otay, Otay, don't you worry,
Everything is gonna be Otay!
Otay, Otay, don't you worry,
Everything is gonna be Otay!
(4:00)
Come to life as the sun goes down
The beat, the lights, a wall of sound
Return to earth from outer space
your homeworld of drum and bass
(4:28)
Otay, Otay, don't you worry,
Everything is gonna be Otay!
Otay, Otay, don't you worry,
Everything is gonna be Otay!
