COMING HOME

Artist picture
I come from Texas where I grew up with country, blues, rock, folk, and everything in between. I grew up on a cattle ranch and once I realized that I didn't really want to be a "real cowboy" I followed my dreams of being a musician. I went on to play all over the world and I moved back to the United States in 2000 with my wife Marija whom I met while I was living in the Netherlands. We currently live in Nashville Tennessee and I am now concentrating mostly on writing.

Story behind the song
I wrote this after having lived in Europe for several years. Just a good ole home-coming song.
Lyrics
I put my lead foot down outside of Amarillo Just a weavin them white lines and dodgin armadillo's I got the sun in my face, I got miles of space, I got my elbow out the window. I got the radio on a rockin country song Lord it's good to be back home. Cause I've been gone, I've been gone too long It sure is great, Here in the Lone Star State. It sure is good, to be back in the hood. I've been around the world, Married a beautiful girl, I wouldn't change a thing if I could. De, DE, De, De, De, De, etc. (chorus) Well when I left home I was on my own, I was gonna set the world on fire. So I took my chance and I left that ranch with a Tele and an amplifier. Well I made my name and I tasted fame enouth to know that it's bittersweet. I paid my dues and you can bet your boots I know what paying dues really means. (chorus) De De De De De De (chorus) (tag)
