Cinzia's Shining Song

I love writing instrumental stuff and this mostly-flat-picked tune is one I really like. Written for Cinzia, both the song and she are mellow and invigorating at the same time.

Happy and Musical
Here are some songs written, performed, recorded by me in my humble (and humbling) home studio. I play all sorts of stuff, from ornery rock to children’s music and love it all. This is a selection of a few singer-songwriter-ish stuff and acoustic instrumentals. Listen, enjoy. After a very short time as a sound click artist, I was pleasantly shocked to see that people have listened to the music. Some even downloaded it. Sharing my music is exactly what I was hoping to do, but I was still pretty surprised to think that total strangers might be enjoying my songs, so, thanks! Please leave even a short note so that I can know who is listening in and I can bring the process full circle by listening to the music you are making, too. Kip

Story behind the song
When I first met Cinzia, we were still kind of hemming and hawing around our attraction for one another. We were sitting down with some friends for dinner- it's July in Italy so it's hot and we are all sticky in our tank-tops and sunburns- and she comes in clean and glowing with this beautiful white dress on, and this amazing smile going. One guy turns to me and says, "Well! Cinzia is really shining in these days." She was, and that's the shine that became the heart of the song for me. I used the music as background for a spoken-word story I wrote with her in mind and then spun it into it's own song. It's one track of me and my beloved Guild F50 in open C using a little bit of hybrid finger picking, but mostly flat-picked. I really like writing instrumental, but there’s a social norm of it being “ambient” and people will talk over it and later saying they love it which makes it odd to perform live. In this case, you can talk while you listen or not; no hard feelings either way.
