Watercress Thieves are currently a songwriting partnership made up of Malcolm Shipp & James Levan both from the South West of England. We have played together for many years and started writing semi-seriously in 2005, had to take a break whilst I lived overseas but now as of December 2007 we are working on a heap of new songs and planning to put together a full on Folk band in the new year 2008. So if you are into folk and play an acoustic instrument then do get in touch, multi instrumentalists with vocal abilities are the most welcome!

Story behind the song
Just took the idea from a story about a guy who does every darn thing he can for his woman and still she ain't satisfied but still he goes on loving her. What an idiot!!!
Lyrics
ROOM WITH A VIEW Sometimes, its hard to sleep without you lying by my side And sometimes, to know the way you feel, god only knows I’ve tried So whats the secret Can you keep it Will you let me in Want to know you Like to show you But just don’t know where to begin Chorus I got a room with a view And its wating for you To shine a little light in my life Yeah a room with a view Now I’m feeling blue Cos losing you cuts like a knife Tell me, we been so long together, where did it all go wrong And tell me, was it what you wanted, or did we stay for too long Gave you flowers Worked for hours Tried to live the dream Just a debt now Is all thats left now I don’t even know where I been Chorus I got a room with a view And its waiting for you To shine a little light in my life Yeah a room with a view Now I’m feeling blue Cos losing you cuts like a knife Lead Guitar Break © Copyright Shipp/Levan May 2005
