A song detailing the confusing feelings a child experiences, suffering from the Oedipus Complex.
One-man band, using both acoustic and electric guitar.
Hallo. I am the Nash Odyssey. I'm a one-man band (except for recording purposes).
Story behind the song
We were learning about the Oedipus Complex as a part of Communication Studies at school, and both I and another guy in my class, Ashley, each decided to write a song about it. This is mine.
Lyrics
I've been born and cleaned of all my afterbirth.
Having thoughts that I'm finding hard to disperse.
It's shameful, this thing that I must now confess,
But I'm turned on when I'm sucking on Mother's breast.
I can't be with my Mum without wanting her in my bed;
I can't be with my Dad without wishing that he were dead.
When I'm with my Mum, I'm wishing we were having sex,
And that's the problem with my Oedipus Complex.
I'm tiny; I can't take him all on my own.
He's giant; he's six-foot-four and 18 stone.
I'll trick him, I'll get him all nice and relaxed
Then when he doesn't suspect anything, I'll attack.
I can't be with my Mum without wanting her in my bed;
I can't be with my Dad without wishing that he were dead.
When I'm with my Mum, I'm wishing we were having sex,
And that's the problem with my Oedipus Complex.
I can't be with my Mum without wanting her in my bed;
I can't be with my Dad without wishing that he were dead.
When I'm with my Mum, I'm wishing we were having sex,
And that's the problem with my Oedipus Complex.
