Country is a parody on patriotism, country life and country music, half serious, half in jest. It is called Country but it is really rock & roll. The girl gets her city boy.

Jim Colyer Band is a free-wheeling, ever-changing thing. Members come and go. The one constant is my catalog of songs. I do some of the lead vocals but employ females as I write lots of girl songs.

Story behind the song
I was under a strong Shania Twain influence and put her in the song. I took it to Cracker Barrel. They liked it but would not put it on their label. If my singer performs it onstage, she can pull out an American flag and wave during that line. Cheesy!
Lyrics
COUNTRY I eat supper every night at the Cracker Barrel When I step out, I dress in western apparel An American girl, just like the 4th of July I feel so Country I could die I know every song Shania ever sang I can't resist that good old country twang I wave my flag every 4th of July I feel so Country I could die We'll, I'm looking for a man who's looking for a girl Who knows just how she feels Looking for a man who's looking for a girl Who's looking for something real I grew up on a farm, I learned how to hoe and plow Come on, city boy, I'll show you how When I love a man, I never say goodbye I feel so country I could die c2005 Jim Colyer ASCAP
