Story behind the song
Friday night my wife and I danced at his club till 11 pm. We were supposed to have lesson at 12 noon the next day. By 1 am Saturday David suddenly died in the arms of Yvonne. There was no warning that he was ill...we still do not know how he died. Seems his "electrical system" just terminated. I think God wanted him home.
Lyrics
My Good Old Teacher Friend Copyright Stan Loh, 2001 He was my good old friend, He was my teacher, taught me to dance. He was a heck of a patient man, Lord, I miss you, My good old teacher friend. He’s like an oak, a strong man. He bumped and bruised but thought it was grand And he danced right through those bends. Lord, I miss you, My good old teacher friend. So dance on in heaven. Dance on and on. And if I should ever meet you, Show me the way, To dance like you, my friend. Up there in heaven to where you were sent. But for now I’ll be going through those steps, That you taught me, My good old teacher friend.
