Acoustic rock in true alternative singer-songwriter fashion.
The Blurry Summer Story:
I never picked up the guitar before my freshman year at Baylor. I was going to be a doctor and go on trips to other countries and give them medicine. I found out that pre-med kids are born, they are not made. The good ones were already there, accepted into the summer program, already a semester ahead of us regular non-schol kids. Neuroscience is hard. Real hard.
But I wrote. I wrote all the time. Short stories with no endings, they just sort of stopped when I got bored or saw something shiney. And poems, god the endless amount of awful rhyming poems about whatever catches an 8 year old's attention.
I had never really sat down and wrote a song before. The first one got a polite review by Mindy. yeah her. She said it was a nice concept...that means it sucked. So I wrote another one, and another one, and then I had an album's worth. So I recorded it with brotherluck (rip) and it was nice. It was fun to learn what being in the studio, spending money on making songs, felt like.
This album is about the last two years. It's about friends you love, losing hope, finding life. It's about those who go away and never come back. And about new places you never want to leave and meeting people who don't want to go away.
