Story behind the song
Guitarist extraordinaire, Ralfie McFlores, started this one off. Playing the intro rhythm, his groundwork inspired all that followed. Adrian and Ryan co-wrote the lyrics, and the rest is history.
Unfortunately, due to the Great Hard Drive Crash of '05, this song (as well as Pillow) will never be mixed in its current incarnation. Moreover, it sorely lacks Rafael's dynamic lead work in the verses. Nevertheless, we have included it hear for your listening pleasure.
Enjoy!
Lyrics
From the box Between lines Boundaries Ways of life When gates break Of our minds Flood comes through Channeling All our thoughts In disarray Where to go Against the grain When our minds are free Are we free? Truth versus lie The paradigm Formula Closed-off mind Set in stone Paradigm When released From our chains Free to go Will we stay Minds unleashed Unrestrained All the walls Collapsing When our minds are free Are we free? Truth versus lie The paradigm Unchain your free mind defy the paradigm Step out of the machine Wipe the sleep from your eyes Rise up in this new world Is it what it seems or a curse in disguise A glimpse of the truth or a trick on your eyes Open-mind Synapse fire Storm gathering Box turned spire Newfound sense Sinking in Hidden truth Perception Feeling pain The first time Longing for The paradigm
