Story behind the song
when my father was ill, I had a late night call to the hospital where he was losing ground. he managed to weather that particular storm and when I got home God gave me these lyrics, the day he died the music poured out. I believe that this was God with His hand on my shoulder saying "it's alright my son, I am always here"
Lyrics
SAD WIND BLOWIN’
Goodbye, but not forever
We’ll meet again, I don’t know where
Gonna miss you, but where you’re going
Life forever, free from care
There’s a sad wind blowin’ in my heart
Cold dark shadows, knowing that we have to part
Strength is what it’s gonna take, to carry on
We were such good friends, but now you’re gone
Hey, man, I’m gonna miss you
Travel safe, to the other side
I’ll carry on, be kind of lonely
Until my time, to take that ride
There’s a sad wind blowin’ in my heart
Cold dark shadows, knowing that we have to part
Strength is what it’s gonna take, to carry on
We were such good friends, but now you’re gone
Jesus is gonna be there Waiting for you, arms open wide
Just believe, let Him forgive you
That’s why He, was crucified
There’s a sad wind blowin’ in my heart
Cold dark shadows, knowing that we have to part
Strength is what it’s gonna take, to carry on
Put my trust in Jesus and He helps me to hang on
