Story behind the song
Lead Guitar/Vocals - Lewis Rumney
Rhythm Guitar - Peter Ellis
Bass - Duncan Sneddon
Drums - Jamie MacLeod
This is a song about love and chilling out! The lyrics are a dual effort of Peter and Lewis, written in the studio while the band was waiting to record. Some excellent guitar sounds abound in this track with Lewis in his element as he tackles some sweet guitar parts! Even Peter, who normally sticks to his rhythmic chords, gets a little solo section of his own. The motivation behind this song was Lewis watching a snooker program on TV and copying the riff from the theme music on his guitar. We decided to make a song from it, and it turned out a lot better than we expected! It has now changed beyond recognition of the snooker program and is sounding ace. Some cool bass going down in the verse, and the drumming is superb!
Lyrics
Lyrics Ellis/Rumney Verse 1: Sitting in the sunshine, Watching life go by. All my troubles fade away Through the sunny cloud sky. Dreaming about the girl Who is my true love Shining hair in the sun In radiance from above. Chorus: In this perfect day Feeling so carefree Sitting here talking to myself Spun out under a tree Its Chemistry! Verse 2: As I watch the sunset, Watch it drift away All my troubles are gone too For some other darkened day. She's there standing next to me In the final ray Of sun that still shines through The window of my mind. Chorus Verse 3: Clouds are rolling over But my happiness remains For me the sun is always here Catching in the drain.(dont ask, Lewis misread Peter's writing!) Tried to give you sunshine, Tried to give it all But in the end is nothing Between us is a wall! Middle Eight/Solo Instrumental Verse Chorus
