Rain beat down upon the earth Night sky torn asunder Lighning flashes left and right Illuminating the night I lay there in my bed Looking up at the ceiling I feel a sense of foreboding Something bad is coming But the storm passed by soon enough It seemed I was wrong again I went for a lonely walk In the constricting dark The cobblestoned streets were slick and wet No-one was out there that night I stopped beside a gaslamp And looked up at the sky The scene I cannot describe Mere words are not enough It was as if the eye of Heaven Had turned in upon itself Moments later I am ripped from my body And hurtled towards the stars It seems I am not alone For I see many beside me But then all turned black And I could see no more But then suddenly a bright light invaded my mind And I could see again Oh, how I wish I had been robbed of sight forever I would have been spared the painful sight before me The kingdom of heaven was aflame God had been dethroned I dropped down to my knees And prayed to whatever Gods I knew I wished it was all a dream That it was all in my head Then I startled awake Drenched in sweat I lay back down to sleep Trying to calm my racing heart Sleep does not come back to me I get up and look out my window I look up at the sky And all is black Black as night...
