This is a worktape of a country-pop song I wrote about the changes and struggles I went through becoming a father. I'll have a better studio demo of this soon.

I'm a songwriter in Nashville. My music ranges from country to southern rock to pop. I don't have aspirations of being an artist. I'll leave that up to the pros and hopefully get a cut or two one day. All songs here are copywrited by me and any other co-writers or publishers involved with any particular song. If you're an artist and want to cut one of my songs, please contact me for information regarding permission and licensing. Thanks!

Story behind the song
I wrote this song about the changes I went through becoming a father, how all of a sudden I became the major influence in someone's life, and struggling with setting the right example. I thought about whether or not I wanted him to be like me at that moment.
Lyrics
God I miss Marlboro Lights Rowdy Friday nights I guess I knew in time I'd have to change But I've adjusted well Instead of rasing hell A son's the only thing I raise these days I've got a ways to go but man I try I still might cuss with him right by my side Chorus: But just as I do I see him standing there Watching my every move He follows me around everywhere Lord now I pray Help me be more like you And do just as you say Cause he'll do just as I do He likes to lather up his face In the mirror as I shave He's only five but he thinks he shaves too Lord I never dreamed Someone would be like me But here he comes now stumbling in my shoes Sometimes I wonder if I'm good enough To be the kind of dad he needs as he grows up Chorus Bridge: Like father like son Who I am gets passed along He's changed me through and through I wonder who's be teaching who Chorus Outtro: Yeah I miss Marlboro Lights Rowdy Friday nights I guess I knew in time I'd have to change
