Rock of the Ages is an independent, original, four-piece Christian Rock act of intense power and devotion. This group uses its driving rhythms, slamming drums, grooving bass lines, and in-your-face vocals with a message of hope to create, and shape, their unique style of music. The band members describe their music as "rock reborn". While they have various influences, unlike many of the watered-down hard rock acts of today, you can really hear this band's originality on every track. The members that comprise the band are all local rock veterans from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They've been working diligently since early 2003 to bring their special brand of music to the masses. In their first year together, they released their initial studio recordings as a solo project: "Johnny Rhoads - Rock of the Ages". The title track became the band name shortly thereafter, as the members felt called to continue their group effort and reach out to lead the lost to Christ. Many fans have told them that this CD has been a blessing to them. The music is the draw, but it's the anointing on what they do that changes lives. All the members of the band have been on the "flip side," and know what it's like out there. The members use their music to reach their audience - filled with listeners who share a similar background as the members themselves. They can truly relate to their audience, and their struggles. They believe in the Word, that anyone can be forgiven. "We want to be used by God, to minister hope to young people; to tell them that God loves them, and that He'll meet them where they are. No matter what they've been through, or done, they can still receive the blessings He has for them. We are so blessed to be able to do this. It's a labor of love," says Johnny Rhoads, the band's drummer and group founder. With a hard metal edge, and a message of hope, they strive to do the best for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Rock of the Ages" is a far cry from the norm these days, but they desire to change the world - one soul at a time.

Story behind the song
This song was written by Len Jennings on acoustic guitar. "I had this idea of writing a song about what God meant to me. But when I sat down to write it I thought 'how do I say that?', you know? There aren't words for that! So that became the inspiration for the first lines of the song," explains Len Jennings the groups front man.
Lyrics
There are no words And love doesn’t tell the story Of how I feel about You I try so hard, Lord To walk in your path And when I fall – you lift me up again You fill my heart where there was no love You give me life when I’ve given up You’re everything when I’m not enough And I’m never enough . . . I could never say What You mean to me I can only pray For what you’ll bring to me Looking for Your Way Is all there needs to be Oh, everything . . . Is what You mean to me When I’ve lost all my strength And will to carry on You are always there I may not notice How I get in Your way Still You work through me You fill my heart where there was no love You give me life when I’ve given up You’re everything when I’m not enough And I’m never enough . . . I could never say What You mean to me I can only pray For what you’ll bring to me Looking for Your Way Is all there needs to be Oh, everything . . . Is what You mean to me Some say there are no miracles But I know this isn’t true I see them every day, in every face It’s like I’m seeing You (Solo) I could never say What You mean to me I can only pray For what you’ll bring to me Looking for Your Way Is all there needs to be Oh, everything . . . Is what You mean to me (Repeat)
