...JimNdave... songwriting and recording Long-time friends and mutually-minded music guys Tom Chiles and Dana Hamilton combine their talents as The JimNdave Project. When you listen you’ll find songs that are Country, Pop, Progressive, Jazzy, R&B, Experimental and Ambient. Every instrument is played by this multi-talented, multi-instrumental duo. Together and separately Tom and Dana have written, arranged, engineered, produced and/or performed on hundreds of corporate and independent sessions. The pair is comfortable writing and performing in a variety of genres. Dana Hamilton’s influences of Dave Gilmour, Duane Allman, Ry Cooder, Neil Young, Allman Brothers blend beautifully with Tom Chiles’ influences of Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Alan Parsons, The Guess Who and Gino Vannelli to create a totally new sound that is varied, interesting, melodic and last but not least, the duo’s music has repeat listen-ability. Tom and Dana had been jamming together for ten years before they put their first song to paper. One song turned into several and soon they were working in recording studios and television and had publishing contracts in Canada and Nashville. Lyrics
You had your fun Treat me like pond scum You hurt me and then some No drink could drown that away You raised the bar Now you’ve gone too far That’s just bizarre Why’d you screw me this way CHORUS Take the car take the alimony Well that should even up the score Hit the road, ready, set, go You’re crazy and it’s getting old This is the end and I won’t be your friend Don’t mean to be rude Got more faith in my dog than I have in you It’s not easy When a relationship’s cheesy When you’re cheating and teasing With your flirtatious way Close to call Baby you dropped the ball Now I must make the call And this time you’re out Take the car take the alimony That should even up the score Hit the road, a ready, set, go You’re crazy and It’s getting old This is the end and I won’t be your friend I don’t mean to be rude Got more faith in my dog than I have in you
