Story behind the song
Contrary to what you might be thinking, the title of this song has less to do with oral copulation and more to do with an English assignment. During my junior year as an English major, I was required to do an oral presentation on the life of Ernest Hemingway. Although (and excuse me for tooting my own horn) I aced the assignment, when I wrote this song afterward I knew that I had musically generated a more apt summation of my interpretation of Hemingway's life experience than my previous oral presentation had (or at least a more apt summation of my life experience relative to his). Hence, this is my new Hemingway Oral.
Lyrics
I dare not leave the breakroom. I dare not face the sun. I dare not ask for tomorrow. I dare not be the one. Find another accolade and we can really make some progress. Although I hurt anyway, I dare not make a sound. I own my own enclave in me. I dare not make a difference. I dare not get in the way. If Hemingway knew the right way to turn and face the bull, I dare not sit in silence, I dare not play the fool. Find another accolade and we can really make some progress.
