Story behind the song
Her heart was pounding. She was running out of time. Tom was going back to California and her cell phone was on the charger at home. She invited him to New York to see how she had settled in and show him the town. They had been great friends in High School and kept in touch all these years. They still laughed at all the same things and suprisingly neither of them ever married. Here they were adults in the big world and still they couldn't come to terms with their unspoken Love for each other. Now was her chance. After almost two weeks of beginning together almost constantly and never feeling so comfortable with anyone since - it was her time - it was her opportunity to tell him how she feels. She wanted to hold him tightly and never let him go again. She wanted to say what was in her heart and had been all these years. It was right she thought. Finally, Love was going to be hers - if she could just get to the Airport on time. She figited and bit her nails like a school girl. She wanted so much to see him one more time before he cross the country. If she told him the truth about her feelings for him - would he even leave? Could he? In the back of her mind it nagged her that she was taking a chance - what if he didn't feel the same? They had kissed, but not like Lovers. They had slept together - but not like Lovers. Where was she going with this? Never in her life had she ever felt so sure of what she felt for him was pure Love. Would it be enough? "God only knows", she said out loud to herself to clear her mind - she looked up and saw the cabby glaring at her in the rear view mirror like he thought she might be crazy. Maybe she was. Maybe Love is nothing more than another form of crazy. It sure made her do the strangest things. They were pulling up to the curb now. She folded the money for the taxi in her fist and practically tossed it as she darted from the cab. Quickly she headed for the Airport doors and looked at her watch again as the automatic door detected her presents and barely made way for her. There in the middle was the airline ticket booth and the schedule suddenly rolled it's numbers and by his flight it said - "Delayed." Her prayer's were answered and she stopped to finally exhale. There he was - he smiled at her and shrugged his shoulders nodding at the flight schedule board. He never looked so handsome she thought. It was time she thought to herself - and walked over to him and gave him her heart.
