Modern Country
I am a singer/songwriter from Garner Texas, close to Dallas Fort Worth (Garner is the place where the domino game "42" was invented, That's Garner's only claim to fame that I know of). I've been playing music since about 1962. I've written/ and co-written a few songs, which I/we are going to be putting on the NET and am working on several more. Hope you like the style!

Story behind the song
Tommy West and I wrote this song back around 1980 while messing around with a drum machine I had and a 4 track Fostex recorder. It's a song about a girl who wasn't sure of what she wanted and would come in and out of the picture.
Lyrics
Words & Music by Alan Grimes and Tommy West COME TO ME All the years that you were gone and now you come back. All the years it's been so long my life was oh so blue. Now you walk into my life and open up my heart. It's been waiting here for you to turn the key. Do you think that you could ever understand me. Do you think that you could ever hold my hand again. Is there some way that both of us could just go back Like before the day when you walked out my door And left me alone to walk all by myself All alone at home you didn't look back. I waited by the phone. I'd ask your picture on my shelf. Oh tell me why you made me cry, why? Don't you think that I should know Just why your feelings come and go? It's time for you and me to do what's right. I've been holding on so long It's wrong to keep me hanging on. Oh come to me or set me free tonight. Yes It's time for both of us to set down. Yes It's time for both of us to set it straight. If we feel the magic deep within our hearts We can fly away today oh yes we can. Don't leave me alone, to walk all by myself. All alone at home and never look back. I've been holding on so long It's wrong to keep me hanging on. Oh come to me or set me free tonight. Come to me or set me free tonight.
