Collaborative creation by Kim Brunner and Steve Wood
Mesmeriah is a long-distance collaborative project by Steve Wood and Kim Brunner. Steve resides in Florida, Kim in Minnesota.
Story behind the song
"Gone" is a purely acoustical rendition, featuring Steve's rich, dual stereo 12-string guitar foundation upon which Kim layers her silky vocals with exquisite interplaying self-harmonies. With this one, we also get a slight taste of Kim's flute playing, as she blends in subtle phrases that seem to morph right into her vocals. This one needs to be heard in HiFi with headphones!
Lyrics
How can you walk away
and not even say goodbye.
You left me standing here
alone and wondering why.
My heart aches
and there's nothing I can do.
Now you're gone, oh...
oh-oh, it's true.
I guess the pain will fade
but there will always be a scar.
'Cause don't you know how
wonderful I think you are.
My heart aches
and there's nothing I can do.
Now you're gone, oh...
oh-oh, it's true.
There's nothing more to say
that will bring you back to me.
I've come to realize
that it will never be.
My heart aches
and there's nothing I can do.
Now you're gone, oh...
oh-oh, it's true.
