Fast and Engergenic Stage performance makes AllFallDown a force to be reckon with.
Think you know allfalldown? Well think again, times have changed. Gone is the self pitying, gone is the safety of belonging to a scene and gone is the sense that the band were holding something back. Fast forward a year and in is the sense of uncomprimising hope, joy and focus that bands this young rarely show, the sense that the band are finally doing what they are happy with and in is the sense that stadiums are genuinely within their reach. the belief and confidence in these songs is a marked contrast to the somewhat uncertain future the band faced six months ago. Its been a long time coming but now allfalldown are finally showing the true clours they've so long hinted at unleashing. Last year the band put out their debut album, the well recieved "hear the noise, start the feeling" to a very good response but although the fans were happy with the record, the band always felt it wasn't entirely what they would go out and buy themselves. the constant screaming and melodic breaks were fast becoming a genre staple and the band wanted to make sure they didnt become a cliche like so many bands they once liked had become. The bands that united the members in the first place were the ones that had passed the test of time, metallica, slayer, iron maiden, machine head, deftones, guns and roses, the cure, bon jovi and duran duran, bands that catered for the masses without ever selling their soul. It was these bands that inspired allfalldown to rethink EVERYTHING the band had become. after recruiting a 2nd guitarist, the band continued to play shows and finish the gigging cycle that began when the album was released. after the shows were done, the band were done with "hear the noise" and wanted to focus on writing a record that reflected who they actually were as people, the resulting songs were rewritten, scrapped, torn apart and the built up from the ground time after time until the final songs truely stood up to the high expectations the band had. Four months to write five songs, the longest period they had ever gone on creating such a low number of songs. the result? PRICELESS. The songs show a relentless sense of melodicism, positivity, heaviness and energy. from the agression and almost punk attitude of "masquerades" to the heartfelt balladeering of "kevlar heart" to the massive sense of ambition on the two part "lessons in letting go" songs the band have covered every point they had set to achieve. in a world based on genre boundries and the right hair cut allfalldown stand out like a sore thumb but thats not necessarily a bad thing, metal isn't a dirty word and neither is emotion, while most bands seem intent on being one or the other allfalldown continue to straddle the boundries that they themselves have set and when the music is this good, whos to stop them?
