Story behind the song

The fact that we remain connected throughout our lives to anyone we have ever dared to love.....in essence, chained.  Sometimes the slavery is voluntary, such as loving your parents or your children; and sometimes it is involuntary, as depicted in this song, and we feel that it would be so much easier, if we could just forget a person we have loved and stop being tortured by the memory.
