A track of epic proportions that just continues to build from the dreamy choir intro into a massively powerful final few bars. Martins haunting vocals, like a distant call in a storm, back dropped against Ollie’s bleak cello and a subtle synth lead.

Four young twenty somethings make up Deadenders; and they're out for blood. This is music for the doom generation, and there’s not a single down tuned guitar or screaming primadonna in sight. This is a refreshing change from the status quo of the local band scene in the UK. This is the new sound. Wearing their influences on their sleeves but sounding like no one, Weir (Production, Vocals, Lyrics) Phil (Guitar) Martin (Lyrics, Vocals, Additional Guitar) and Ollie (Cello, and arrangements) have entirely self-produced their homegrown debut EP, Stealing The Sun. Seven tracks, clocking in at 30 plus minutes, its quite clear that these boys have an ear for the unique, veering away from the punchy three minute pop song approach in favor of something...a little different. This is a journey in to the dark side of Generation X. Themes vary throughout - ranging from the chanting opener "Waiting for the Sun" a song about love lost and paranoia, to the bombastic political assault of "010017-102579" which spouts venom in the face of the current political climate and the state of youth. There is a glimmer of hope to be found among the swirling vocals; ridden with angst and paranoia and set perfectly against a bleak, snarling futurist soundscape. It’s not all darkness, there is much enjoyment to be had here - but one thing is made abundantly clear with this record: its time for the three minute wonders that currently dominate the radiowaves to take note and start trying. As I stated before - this is the new sound. Put on your headphones, crank up your stereo and listen up. Because those darn dead-end kids are in town, and they mean businesses.
