Story behind the song
It was based on a play I did last year called "How to make an american teenage quilt" or somethin' like that. It was a play about different teenagers & their situations like racism, bullies, being different, aids, & other different situations like that. So after the play was over I felt like writing a song about it & I did. So this is it.

v1:
as the curtains open, I get nervous on purpose>
I walk on the stage, in front of people on the surface>
I act out my characters, as people're watching>
it's like people throwing stuff, while I'd be dodging>
I forgot my lines, I need a script>
so I can memorize my lines, at least before six>
It was the 3rd play, that I acted in>
since elementary school, now I'll begin>
I'm acting out a boy, who is alone>
while his mom's at work, left him with his brother at home>
She had 3 husbands, but he never had a dad>
when his mom's boyfriend comes over, he then looks mad>
Doesnt know what to make for dinner>
for him and his brother, while he's thinner as a winner>
loves to play Football, but can't even afford it>
The coach talks about it, as he supports it>
The counselor asks the questions, the boy has a suggestion>
by telling her to "mind her damn business" as he gets suspention>
So his mom can't afford electricity>
I feel sorry for the boy, 'cause his life ain't easy>
So the boy prays to God, to make his life better>
some people who watch this play, probably gather together>>
v2:
I play another character named player 3>
He's a basketball player, in the scene>
actin' mean, because he runs a mile>
or so, and his shorts are probably out of style>
Him and his teammates have to run around the coach>
Robinson's a screw up who's too short and too slow>
Robinson ticks the teammates off, as they have to run around>
he makes them so mad, he's probably going down>>
I play a friend of the bully named Josh>
he picks on steve in the scene, oh my gosh>
me and josh and the other bully push steve>
steve pulls his gun out and accidentally shoots Julie>
Julie dies as we run away>
then we exit the stage as STeve sits and prays>
what has he done? he shot his own friend>
who told him not to bring the gun, that is the end>>
The boy's mom can't afford the physical or utility bills>
as his brother's crying and can't chill>>
There's another scene we do that involves blue>
we all wear it as a group as Durrell has no clue>
but he plays a character who wears something different>
As he makes his own group, that's how he's living then>
then the rest of us wanna join>
he thinks we're crazy, it's like a 2 sided coin>
so we join him as we're all unblue>
we're follower who can't think for ourselves it's true>>
I also play a character friend 2>
in a suicide scene made to be sad for you>
the suicide victim's name was Matt>
he was the "A" student, boyfriend and quarterback>
there was Sara, Ryan & Friend 1-4>
who missed him with his parents at this time much more>
Sara was his girlfriend who went to the funeral>
she invited the friends as the world soon twirled>
They said: "I dont think so, that's more for the family">
the actress cried so real, she deserved a grammy>
I asked: "do you want us to come with you?" she said:
"No, that's okay I'll just go with my parents">
I asked: "are you sure?" I couldn't stop carin'>
she said: "yeah, don't worry, I'll be okay.
I gotta get going, bye guys" then she ran off stage>
after some lines I said: "you know, most of my relationships dont amount to much>
but she really loved him" and stuff>
after some lines Ryan talked, to God as people watched>
then the rest of us walked, away from the block>
after some scenes, and acts the play had to end>
and after it all, I hung out with my new friends>>
H:
Dear God, please help me with this play>
Dear God, I'll try to practice everyday>
Dear God, Dear God, I ask of you today>
I guess I'll act this way>
