Story behind the song
In 1998 I worked for a summer at a Christian youth camp, and wrote songs to help the kids learn their memory verses. One of the verses was Acts 4:12-- "Salvation is found on no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." My version is this catchy little tune.
Lyrics
Nobody Else By Eric M. Pazdziora CHORUS: Nobody else can get you to heaven, No other things or possessions can save, Only through putting our whole trust in Jesus, That’s the one way that the Father gave. Now suppose you’ve got some money, And you’ve got an awful lot. Though it may seem kind of funny, It can’t save you--it can not. For you cannot buy salvation, Whatever they may say, It is God’s free gift through Jesus, And He’s the only way. (CHORUS) Suppose you’re very talented, Or you have a pretty face. That won’t get you into heaven, ‘Cause it’s God’s free gift by grace. No matter what you have or own, The message is the same. The only way to heaven Is to trust in Jesus’ name. (CHORUS) You might be strong or handsome, You might be a movie star. You might have a billion dollars, Or a brand-new fancy car. But it doesn’t matter what you have, Or what you say or do. The Bible says that Jesus is The way for me and you. (CHORUS) Copyright © 1998 Eric M. Pazdziora. All Rights Reserved.
